We have some mid-week MLS action with 11 games on Wednesday, April 22, so let’s get into 5 games to cover for today’s MLS predictions.

MLS Picks and Parlays #1
Houston Dynamo vs San Diego FC Prediction
Side-by-side in the West, 10th Houston will host 9th San Diego.
Last year this was a wild matchup where both won on the road, first San Diego by a 4-3 score and then Houston in a 4-2.
And I feel like this game sets up nicely for goals once again this season.
After 3 straight losses, Houston has won back-to-back games. They went to Orlando and won a rare low-scoring game 1-0 this weekend, their first clean sheet in 8 overall games. Only twice in those 8 have they not scored themselves.
San Diego is trending the other direction, now winless in 6 overall games and losers of 3 straight. They lost 4-2 to RSL this weekend and have have scored multiple goals in 4/7 and 1+ in 5/7, but have no given up 4, 2, 3, 2, 4, 3 and 2 goals in their last 7 games. The good news? They managed to finish a game with 11 players on the field vs RSL, something they had failed to do in 5/6 previous games.

Real Salt Lake vs Inter Miami Prediction
Speaking of RSL, let’s focus on their game vs Messi and Inter Miami next.
RSL is rising a 6-game undefeated streak at 5-1-0, and they’ve scored 2, 3 or 4 goals in each of those last 6. Their most recent wins have been 3-1 and 4-2 over SKC and San Diego. The offense is coming from all over with 8 different scorers, 4 multi-scorers, and team leader Sergi Solans with 5. The bad news? They’ve yet to keep a clean sheet and have given up 2 goals in 3 of their last 5.
That’s likely to continue vs Miami who is undefeated in 9 across all comps. After two 2-2 draws at their brand new home stadium, it took a road trip to Colorado to get 3 points, winning 3-2. There’s some good news, bad news scenarios for them too. They’ve scored 3, 2, 2, and 3 goals in recent games, Messi is doing Messi things with 7 goals and Berterame has now scored in back-to-back games. Bad news? They’ve conceded in 5 straight and twice in four straight.

- Parlay Picks: HOU vs SD btts / RSL vs MIA btts & O2.5 (+142)
MLS Picks and Parlays #2
Columbus Crew vs LA Galaxy Prediction
The Crew got their first win a few weeks back, then drew, then won in USOC but fell back into the L column last weekend with a 2-1 loss in New England. They’ve still scored in 5 straight overall games even after the ACL injury to Abou Ali, but have conceded in 5/6 and 7/9, only shutting out Richmond in the USOC recently.
The Galaxy haven’t been much better with just 2 wins to Columbus’ 1 in MLS play. In all matches they’ve won just 1/6 recently. For them the good news is Joseph Paintsil is back and he scored in their 2-2 draw with Dallas this weekend. But he was also subbed off with as Greg Vanney put it “exhaustion”. But … Joao Klauss was subbed off in tears with a foot injury, but no ankle fracture which is good news. Jakob Glesnes has been out and could maybe come back either Wednesday or Sunday.
With goals in 10 of their past 11 and 2 goals scored in 3/4, the Galaxy are usually goal-dangerous. But they continue to leak goals on the backend allowing 2, 3, 1, 4, 2, and 1 in recent games. In 14 overall games they have just 4 clean sheets and 3 are vs lower level teams.
- MLS Picks: BTTS

FC Dallas vs Minnesota United Prediction
Dallas just played a 2-2 with the aforementioned Galaxy. Both goals came from Petar Musa who leads the Golden Boot race with 9 goals. He’s proved to always be worth betting in the goal and shot departments.
Dallas still only has 1 defeat all season, in early March to LAFC. They’re undefeated in 5 since but have a lot of draws (2-3-0) and have given up 9 goals in their last 5 games. But they’re filling the net with 2, 1, 4, 4, and 3 goals in that time.
The Loons started slow, but after getting blasted 6-0 by Vancouver, they’re undefeated in 5 across all comps, have scored 2 goals in 3/4 games, have only allowed 2 goals in 5 games and have back-to-back clean sheets. Kelvin Yeboah is also on a 3-game goalscoring run.
Last year they drew 0-0 in Minnesota and the Loons won 2-1 away in Dallas.
- MLS Picks: Dallas to score
Toronto FC vs Philadelphia Union Prediction
The Union followed up their first (and only) win over Montreal with a 0-0 with DC. I love a low-scoring game in that one and we got it. But Philly games aren’t all low-scoring. The BTTS had hit in 5 straight prior and they had conceded in 8 in a row as well.
TFC, even without the injured Djodje Mihailovic, have been a pretty interesting team. They’re udnefeated in 6, have scored 3 goals in 2/3 games, have scored in 7/8 overall matches, but have also conceded in 7/8 overall matches. They’ve been taking advantage of an extended home run at BMO Field leading up to the World Cup, a place where they haven’t lost in 12 regular season games going back to June last summer.
Last year they drew in Philly 1-1 and the Union won 2-1 in Toronto. Toronto has only failed to score at home vs the Union once in their history, and it was way back in 2014.
- MLS Picks: TFC to score
- Parlay Picks: CLB vs LA btts / DAL to score / TOR to score (+141)
