Soccer Picks and Parlays | EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A & La Liga (FEB 28 – MAR 1)

Another weekend of soccer action is here, so let’s look at some top games across Europe in the EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A. I’ll look at 11 games for 4 parlays to cover both days.

Soccer Picks #1

Hoffenheim vs St. Pauli Prediction

This will be the 3rd meeting this season between them with Hoffenheim winning 3-0 in the league, before they drew 2-2 in the Pokal Round of 32 and St. Pauli won 8-7 in PKS. Last year St. Pauli won both meetings 2-0 and 1-0, but this is a different Hoffenheim this season.

This year’s Hoffenheim is 3rd, and while they could only draw Koln 2-2 last week, they’ve lost just twice in regulation in 18 overall matches and have scored 2, 3, 1, 3, 2, 3, 1, and 5 goals in recent games. Kramaric scored again last week, has 4 goals in 4 games and 1+ shot on target (9 total) in 5 games.

Pauli were winless in 7, but have now won 2/3, but both wins came at home. On the road, they’re 1-2-9 and have been outscored 22-9 and have been shut out in their last 2 away games, while also giving up multiple goals in each of their past 5 away matches.

There’s been 3+ goals in both teams’ last 4 Bundesliga games, while Hoffenheim have scored 2+ in 5/6. I like Hoffenheim to win or score 2+. If you wanted to be really safe, then Hoffenheim double chance.

  • Soccer Picks: Hoffenheim over 1.5

Newcastle vs Everton Prediction

11th Newcastle with 37 pts, hosts 9th Everton with 36.

Newcastle’s spirits will be high after advancing in the UCL, beating Qarabag 3-2 this week. The score may look close but they won 9-3 on aggregate. Newcastle have wins in 4/5, scoring 15, but propped up by 9 vs the Azerbaijans. While they’ve scored in 9 straight, they’ve conceded in 10 straight, so their games have been entertaining with BTTS & Over 2.5 going 8-0. Guimaraes and Schar are still significant absentees. Joelinton did return vs this week in the UCL though and scored 6 minutes in.

Everton have scored in 9/10 themselves so maybe this is another good BTTS game. They didn’t last week though losing 1-0 to Man U, their second straight loss and they now have only 3 wins in 13 in all comps.

Newcastle had a huge 4-1 win away to Everton in November, but previous scores have been 1-0 Everton, 0-0 and 1-1.

While Everton games are usually lower-scoring, they’ve given up a goal in 8/9.

  • Soccer Picks: Newcastle to score

Barcelona vs Villarreal Prediction

After 2 losses, Barca got back in the win column with an easy 3-0 win over Levante last week.

Villarreal had been winless in 5, but have now won 3/4 and 2/2 and beat a different struggling team in Valencia, 2-1 last week. Only their own shut out of Levante two games back (1-0), stands as their only clean sheet in 14 overall games. So against maybe the best offensive team on the continent, that seems unlikely to change. The question will be can Villarreal score, and the answer is probably. They’ve done so in 5 straight, albeit vs some weaker opponents.

The Yellow Submarine were unable to score in their earlier meeting losing 2-0 at home. But previous scorelines between these teams have been 3-2 for Villarreal in Barcelona last year, and 5-1 Barca, 5-3 Villarreal and 4-3 Barcelona. Oddly, a road team has now won 6 straight and 9/10.

  • Soccer Picks: BTTS and Over 2.5
  • Parlay Picks: HOF over 1.5 / NEW to score / BAR vs VIL btts & O2.5 (+205)

Soccer Picks #2

Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich Prediction

If the title race isn’t already over in Germany, it will be if Bayern come out on top again. Bayern are 1st, 8 points above Dortmund in 2nd, and won 2-1 earlier this season. Last year they drew 2-2 and 1-1. And Dortmund won the match before that so it doesn’t always go Bayern’s way, but Dortmund has only won 1/15 in this matchup.

Davies got injured last week with Bayern so they’ll be missing the Canadian again, but Bayern held off Frankfurt to win 3-2, still meaning they’ve only lost twice, and only failed to score 2 goals in a game twice in all comps this season. Bayern have scored 3, 3, 2, 5, 2, and 2 goals in recent games. But they’ve conceded goals in 5/7 and 9/11 and to far worse teams than Dortmund.

Dortmund will have to quickly forget their abysmal defeat to Atalanta in the UCL on Wednesday. Up 2-0 from Leg 1, they went down 3-0, levelled the tie by getting one back to make it 3-1, and just about when extra-time was coming, they saw red, conceded a PK and lost 4-1. They had been undefeated in 5 before that, and had scored 2, 2, 4, 2 and 3 goals. Last week they feel behind as well, 2-0 to RBL, before drawing 2-2. That does mean they haven’t lost in 16 straight league games.

Both teams have scored in 11/13 between them and that could happen again, likely with Bayern scoring 2 themselves and maybe winning, especially with the extra rest. Given there’s been 3 goals in 24 straight Bundesliga games for Bayern, you could also bet Over 2.5.

  • Soccer Picks: BTTS & Over 2.5

Leeds vs Man City Prediction

Let’s pair this bet together with another game kickoff off at the same time, over in England with Leeds hosting Man City. With 1st place very much in their sights just 5 point back of Arsenal, Man City will be well-focused and should win. They’’re undefeated in 8 (7–1-0), have outscored opponents 18-5 in that time and beat Leeds 3-2 earlier this season. They’ve scored 2+ goals in all of the last 8 games.

But Leeds are a tough out for all teams at Elland Road, where they’re 6-4-3 in the EPL.

No matter the location or competition, Leeds are the draw specialists, having now drawn 3 straight 1-1, 1-1 and 2-2, to go with draws in 8/15. While it will be tough to beat City outright, they may have a chance to draw or at least score to make a BTTS or City to win and BTTS bet come in. In some fashion, there should also be at least 2 goals in the game, something that’s happened in 9/10 and 23/25 past Leeds games in all matches.

Real Oviedo vs Atletico Madrid Prediction

This game is at 3pm EST so if you want to increase the parlay, you can add this one in without affecting the 2 earlier games, or just leave it at 2 games. On paper, 4th Atletico should cruise past 20th Oviedo. Betting an Atleti win will really boost the parlay.

But Atleti are erratic, and have only won 3/12 road La Liga games. In all matches they’re 5-3-3 of late. But in their last 3 have a 3-3 draw, 4-2 win and 4-1 win, twice over Brugge in the UCL, with Sorloth nearing a hat-trick this week vs Brugge and 2 last weekend vs Espanyol. They’ve scored 11 goals in 3 games, but given up 9 goals in 4 games. So … they can be hard to predict.

Maybe, maybe, Oviedo can frustrate them, like they did away to Sociedad last week when they were up 2-0, down 3-2 and tied it late 3-3 on the road. At home and with no midweek game they’ll be fresher. Atleti should win, but to  be safe we can use the double chance. And if it makes it to this point in the parlay and Atleti is up, we’d be able to cash-out if you use a book that allows it.

  • Soccer Picks: Atletico Madrid double chance
  • Parlay Picks: DOR vs BM btts & O2.5 / LEE vs MCI O1.5 / ATM double chance (+110)

Soccer Picks #3

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

With GPG averages of 2.6 (BRI) and 2.4 (NF), this could be close, with both slightly skewing to Under 2.5 totals. Move that up to 3.5 and both are 22-5 to the Under. Earlier this season it was an under, with Brighton winning 2-0.

The Seagulls got a rare win last week, beating Brentford 2-0, their first win in 6. In their last 10 games there’s been 3 goals in a game just 3 times. They had been shut out in 3 straight before the Brentford game.

Forest don’t win often either with 1 win in 6 and 4 in 16 in all comps. They lost 1-0 to Liverpool last week but conceded in the 97’. On Thursday they lost 2-1 to Fenerbahce in the UEL, but having won 3-0 in Leg 1, they still moved on. But that means they’ve scored 0 or 1 goal in 5 of their last 6.

Any sorta Under looks good here, 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5.

  • Soccer Picks: Under 3.5

Roma vs Juventus Prediction

This is a huge match for the top 4, with Roma in 4th with 50 pts and Juve 5th with 46 pts. A Roma win would put a big gap between them.

Roma comes in rested and off a 3-0 win last week. They’re 4-3-1 in their last 8 in all comps and have scored in 10/11 and 19 total goals in that time. They lost to Juve 2-1 in December, but Juve is not in top form right now.

On Wednesday they had a huge scoreline to overturn in the UCL vs Galatasaray, down 5-2 from Leg 1. It was slow to start but a Locatelli PK opened the scoring before the half, then Juve took a questionable red early in the second half and the game got wild. Down a man, they still scored twice to “win” 3-0 and force extra-time. But that’s when Gala finally took advantage of the extra man and scored twice, to lose 3-2 but advance 7-5 on aggregate.

The regulation win was Juve’s first in 5 and they’ve been giving up a ton of goals (2, 5, 3, 2, 3) prior to the Gala game. Having also scored multiple goals n 4/5 their games have been great Over bets lately.

With a short week, where they played down a man for half the game and went to ET, let’s just focus on Roma.

  • Soccer Picks: Roma to score
  • Parlay Picks: BRI vs NF under 3.5 / ROM to score (-112)

Soccer Picks #4

Stuttgart vs Wolfsburg Prediction

Stuttgart had a wild 3-3 draw with Heidenheim last weekend, and then hosted Celtic in the UEL this week on Thursday and lost 1-0, but still advanced 4-2 on aggregate. With 2 second half goals called back by VAR, they could’ve drawn or won. That’s just the 2nd loss in 9 for Stuttgart, and it stopped a run of 8 games where they had scored, while scoring 3, 4, and 3 goals in the 3 games prior to Thursday. As good as they’ve been, they’ve not kept the ball out of their net in 5 games.

Undav obviously didn’t score, but you can often count on him to contribute with 17G/12A in all comps and 5 goals in his last 9 games.

Sitting in 4th they’re way better off than Wolves who are just above the drop zone in 15th.

Wolfsburg has been an amazing BTTS team, something I’ve missed out on, maybe since their form is poor. It’s hit in 78% of league games, the highest mark in the Bundesliga. After 2-1, 2-2 and 3-2 recent results, it’s hit in 14/15. And if you look back over the full season, they’ve conceded in 16 straight and 23/25.

It didn’t hit though when they lost 3-0 at home to Stuttgart in October. It has hit in 6 of the past 8 between them though.

It seems very likely Stuttgart can score 1-2 in this match, but coming off a short turnaround, having given up 3 to Heidenheim last week, and with Wolves history of scoring in most games, this can be a good BTTS bet.

  • Soccer Picks: BTTS

Arsenal vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea isn’t going to catch Arsenal for 1st, but they can still finish top 4, but lost ground in that battle, drawing Burnley last week, while Man U won. They also saw CB Fofana see red so will be out a defender this week.

That was an unexpected result but overall they’ve lost just twice in 12, however, both of those losses came to Sunday’s opponents Arsenal, first losing 3-2 and then 1-0 in the EFL Cup semis. The 1-0 is the only time the Blues haven’t scored in 20 games.

Their EPL match in November was 1-1 and Under 2.5 is now 4-1.

The Gunners blew away another London rival, beating Spurs 4-1 last week with 2 goals each from Eze and Gyokeres. They’re undefeated in this past month (8 games) and have outscored opponents 22-6 in that time.

While Chelsea haven’t beaten Arsenal in 3 games this season, Liam Rosenior has still yet to lose an EPL game wit the Blues. So something has to give.

  • Soccer Picks: Arsenal to score & Gyokeres 1+ shot attempt

Real Betis vs Sevilla Prediction

The Seville Derby is always close. Betis won 2-0 in November, but that’s the only multi-goal win for either team in 9 meetings. It’s only the second time in 7 games a team has scored 2 goals, making bets on Under 2.5 6-1. Up that to 3.5 and the Under is 14-0.

There’s been 32 cards (30 yellow, 2 red) in their last 6 matchups, 5.33 per game, so maybe you could toss some cards into a SGP.

Betis has had the slight upper hand being 2-4-1 in the last 7, winning each of the past 2. And this year’s form would say Betis could win again as they’re 13 pts higher than Sevilla in the table.

Betis drew last week but are 4-1-1, scoring in 6/7 and 12/14. They’ve also conceded in 7/8. Bakambu has goals in back-to-back games and a shot on target or more in 7/8.

With just 2 wins in 10 games, this doesn’t look like a spot for Sevilla to win. They’ve scored just 1 goal in each of their past 4 games and have been shut out in 4/10. With recent scores of 1-1, 1-1 and 1-0, perhaps this is another tight low-scoring game.

  • Soccer Picks: Betis to score
  • Parlay Picks: STU vs WOL btts / ARS to score & Gyokeres 1+ shot / Betis to score (+111)
