Hoffenheim were only 3 points away from being relegated last season. The pre-season has been all good news, though with 8 wins in 8 games, 40 goals scored and only 5 conceded. They lost a key figure in Tom Bischof to Bayern and are very young, averaging 24.9 years. They’re sticking with the same coach, though in Christian Ilzer.
Leverkusen’s pre-season has been solid too at 5-0-1, outscoring opponents 16-4, only losing once, 2-0 to Chelsea. It’s the end of era though with Florian Wirtz now in Liverpool and head coach Xabi Alonso in Madrid, replaced by an old Man U coach, Erik ten Haag.
Leverkusen won 3-1 and 4-1 last year. They’ve won 5 straight, the BTTS & Over 2.5 is 5-0, and the Over 2.5 alone is 8-0.
Let’s bet on there being at least a couple of goals in this one.

Arsenal vs Leeds Prediction

Arsenal went to Manchester on Sunday and won 1-0. Man U led in possession, shots and shots on target though.
Leeds hosted Everton on Monday and also kicked off the season with a 1-0 win, getting a PK goal from Nmecha late in the 84’. They led in shots 21-7 and shots on target 3-1.
Arsenal hasn’t lost in 14 meetings with Leeds (12-2-0) and have won 6 straight.
The Gunners added to an already stacked lineup with Crystal Palace’s main man Eberechi Eze, beating out a bid from Spurs. He joins what looks like a lethal front three with Gyokeres and Saka.

Roma vs Bologna Prediction

Last year Bologna won 3-2 and they drew 2-2.
Roma just missed out on European action for this season, while Bologna got some silverware winning the Coppa Italia.
Roma looks set for improvemnt with new additions Neil El Aynaoui and Evan Ferguson, plus bringing in Atalanta’s coach Gasperini.
Only 3 teams had more BTTS games than Bologna, however, that percent was jsut 58% to the Yes. Roma scored in 84% of their games, only Milan and Inter scored in more games. Roma also kept the 3rd-most clean sheets behind Napoli and Juve.
Bologna started strong in preseason winning 8-0 and 7-0, the lost 3-2, won 3-2, lost 1-0 and lost 4-2.
Roma’s preseason was 4-1-1, only losing (4-0) and failing to score in the same game to Aston Villa. That game, including all comps going back to January 23, is the only time they’ve not scored in 29 games.
Dovbyk could lead the line for Roma. But Dybala is back from injury and is also an option. Baley and captain Pellegrini is injured, and defender Celik is suspended.
Bologna retained top scorer Orsolini and Serie A legend Immobile joins from Besiktas. But fullbacks Holm and Miranda are injured.
Roma have only 1 loss in 22 Serie A games. But we’ll just bet them to score with Bologna being a solid team too.

Atletico Madrid vs Elche Prediction
Atleti got off to a slow start losing 2-1 to Espanyol in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Segunda’s 2nd place team Elche drew Betis 1-1.
These teams met in the Copa del Rey last season and Atleti won 4-0. But their last meeting in La Liga in 2023 was won 1-0 by Elche, but in Elche.
Atleti, at the Metropolitana, are usually a solid bet. They were in the CWC and both preseason games were on the road, and then so too was the opener.
Their final 4 home games last season were wins of 4-2, 3-0, 4-0 and 4-1. New signing Baena is already injured but they should have enough to see off Elche.

Como vs Lazio Prediction
Last year it was 5-1 Lazio in Como and then 1-1. Lazio finished 7th at 18-11-9, scoring 61, allowing 49
Como, in their first season were impressive, finishing 10th. They were 13-10-15 scoring 49 and allowing 52. Como signed 9 players this offsesason and spent over a 100 million, including a new well-known striker Alvaro Morato, on loan from AC Milan.
Lazio had a transfer ban so didn’t add any new players. They kept most players, except French U21 Loum Tchauna who was sold to Burnley.
They were both among the top BTTS teams with Lazio’s games hitting the BTTS 63% of the time, 2nd overall, and Como’s hitting 61% of the time, right behind in 3rd.
Como’s preseason:

- 3-1 win over Al-Ahli
- 3-0 win over Ajax
- 3-2 win over Real Betis
- 5-0 loss to Barcelona
- 3-1 win over Sudtirol in the Coppa Italia
Lazio preseason:

- 2-2 draw with Galatasary
- 1-0 win over Burnley

Lazio are the better side and scored in 4/5 pre-season games and in both meetings between these teams last year. But Como is an exciting up-and-coming team and are at home.

Fulham vs Man U Prediction

These teams were on opposite ends of the BTTS hit rate last season. Fulham, tied in 1st at 71%, and Man U, tied for the fewest with 42%.
That trend continued in Week 1 this season. Fulham left it late, but scored the equalizer in the 97’ to draw Brighton 1-1. Man U lost 1-0 to Arsenal but played well enough to score. They had 62% possession, and led in shots 22-9 and shots on target 7-3.
Mbeumo and Cunha got lots of time laat week ans Sesko came on late in the game, but could get the start this week. So the full attack could be newcomers.
All of their games last year were close. 1-0 Man U in both EPL games and 1-1 in the FA Cup with Fulham winning in PKs.
Man U could have scored vs Arsenal and I think they can vs Fulham. In their home opener, let’s back the Cottagers to contribute too. Man U have 1 win in 10 in the EPL, but have been good vs Fulham and in Fulham as Fulham haven’t beaten Man U at Craven Cottage in 8 games.

Real Oviedo vs Real Madrid Prediction

Madrid were last to play on MD1 playing on Tuesday vs Osasuna. Mbappe’s 51’ minute PK stood up as the only goal in a 1-0 win. They held Osasuna to 0 shots on target.
Oviedo were one of the first teams to play, playing last Friday, losing to Villarreal 2-0. They took a red in the 27’, then quickly conceded in the 29’ and 36’.
It would be a huge upset in the newly-promoted Ovieda got anything from Madrid.
