PSG vs Real Madrid Head-to-Head
All-time Real Madrid is 4-2-2. Their last meetings came in the 2021/22 UCL in the Round of 16. While PSG won 1-0 in Leg 1, Real Madrid won 3-1 in the second leg.
Paris Saint-Germain Preview
After winning the Champions League, PSG kept rolling in the Club World Cup and blew away Atletico Madrid 4-0.
In Game 2 vs Botafogo, they controlled the game, but Botafogo led in shots on target 4-2 and got the only goal in a shocking 1-0 upset.
In the final Group Stage match PSG were big favorites against MLS side Seattle and with goals from Kvaratskhelia and Hakimi they rolled to a 2-0 win and held Seattle to 0 shots on target.
Next up was another MLS team in the Round of 16 where they played old teammate Lionel Messi and Inter Miami. The UCL champs made quick work of the Herons leading 4-0 at the half and winning by that scoreline.
That set up a huge clash with Germany’s Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. While Bayern certainly ha their chances and both teams had 5 shots on target, it was 0-0 until the 78′. Doue broke the deadlock to give PSG the lead, but then things got interesting. Pacho took a red in the 82′ and Hernandez as well in the 92′, both for PSG, but the Parisiens scored in the 96′ two men down through Demebele. Bayern had a near shout for a PK in the dying moments but it was called off by VAR and it ended 2-0.
In their last 10 games they’re 9-0-1 and have outscored opponents 30-4. While they only have 6 clean sheets in 16 games, all 6 have come in their last 7 games.
Hakimi and Neves lead PSG with 2 goals, but 9 players have scored. Kvaratskhelia does have 1G/2A and shot attempts of 3, 5, 2, 3, 3 and shots on target of 2, 1, 2, 1, 2. In his last 7 games he has 29 shots and 14 on target.

Real Madrid Preview
In Game 1, Real Madrid had an unlikely 1-1 draw with Al Hilal.
It looked like they may go 2 games without a win as Raul Ascencio took a red card just 7 minutes into their game with Pachuca reducing them to 10 men for the entire game. But, Madrid got the game’s next 3 goals and won 3-1.
On Matchday 3, Madrid had 4 shots on target vs Salzburg, scored on 3 of them and it was a straightforward 3-0 victory.
That set up a big clash with Juventus which saw the return of Mbappe to the lineup but not before youngster Gonzalo Garcia scored again, proving to be the only goal in a 1-0 Madrid win.
The quarterfinals were a Champions League Final rematch from 2023/24 against Dortmund. Again, Garcia scored an early in the 10′ followed by Fran Garcia in the 20′. It stayed that way most of the game and was minutes away from being a 2-0 Madrid win. But … not so fast. Maximillian Beier cut it to 2-1 in the 92′, Mbappe restored the two-goal lead in the 94′ (3-1), then Dean Huijsen saw red for Madrid in the 96′ and Serhou Guirassy scored a PK in the 98′. A 2-0 lead turned into a 3-2 win with 3 stoppage time goals.
Real Madrid were 7-0-3 in their final 10 in the season, only losing to Barca (twice) and Arsenal. It’s now 8 games undefeated. They’ve conceded in 3/5 this tournament, but have scored in 15 straight and multiple goals in 9/11.
21-year-old Gonzalo Garcia has impressed the most with 4G/1A this tournament to go with 11 shots and 7 on target.
Federico Valverde is next with 2 goals, while 5 others have 1 each.

PSG vs Real Madrid Prediction
Both teams will be dealing with suspensions, 2 for PSG and 1 for Madrid. Specifically for PSG, losing two defenders could affect their typically impenetrable backline. Bit Real’s CB Huijsen also misses out.
The way PSG is playing, this looks like their year as they’ve been unbeatable of late and have scored 164 goals in all matches this season. If I’m picking a winner it’s hard not to trust them to get the win, but Madrid have one of the hottest players in the tournament in Garcia, and have the ability to bring, of all players, Mbappe off the bench. As good as PSG has been, Real have the better record at the CWC having remained undefeated.
I did expect Bayern to be able to score vs PSG as well, and they could not. But they had chances and with PSG’s missing defenders I’ll back Madrid to score in this one.
Betting options for me:
- PSG to win (+130) or simply to lift the trophy (-135)
- BTTS (-190) & Over 2.5 (-127)
- Kvaratskhelia and Garcia 1+ shot on target (-140)
- FIFA Club World Cup Picks: PSG to lift trophy and btts (+150) at Bet365
