MLS Predictions & Parlays for Week 15

It’s MLS Week 15 on May 25-26 with 15 games this weekend to break down in our MLS predictions.

Last week was gross. 15 games and just 32 goals. It had to be one of the lowest-scoring weekends in some time. And 7 of those goals game in 1 game, with TFC winning 6-1 playing up a man the whole game. Overall, 14 teams failed to score and Under 2.5 went 10-5.

Maybe it was the double match week. But anytime there’s that few goals, as some who loves to bet on goals in this league it won’t go well. And it didn’t 0-4. Let’s try to regroup.

MLS Picks and Parlays #1

San Diego vs LA Galaxy Prediction

At 3.7 GPG (LA) and 2.9 (SD), both are among the leaders in highest goals per game.

San Diego has had a great start to their first season and haven’t lost in 4 games but did draw 0-0 last weekend. They had scored 9 goals in their 3 games prior.

In fact, their first-ever game, was vs LA, beating them 2-0 in LA with two goals from Dreyer. Surely LA has some revenge on their minds.

They’ve only lost once at Snapdragon Stadium and have 3 straight clean sheets. So betting them to win over a still winless LA Galaxy team certainly isn’t a bad bet.

But the Galaxy have shown some life. First in getting up 2-0 on Philly before losing 3-2 and then fighting back to draw LAFC 2-2 last week. Reus scored both goals and Pec and Paintsil are back from injury. A Galaxy win is coming at some point. It may not be this weekend, but I do see them scoring in what looks like an exciting all-California matchup that’s being played at a standalone time slot at 4:45 pm EST.

MLS Picks and Parlays #2

Philadelphia vs Miami Prediction

Wow, it’s getting ugly for Miami. A 3-0 home loss to rivals Orlando last week makes them 1–1-5 in their past 7 where they’ve been outscored 20-12. They’ve given up multiple goals goals in 6/7 only not doing so in the 1 win. In their past 3 games they’ve been shredded for 10 goals.

Getting shut out was new. They’ve scored in 17/21 overall matches.

I refuse to not expect them to score in nearly every game.

I also can’t see them keeping the ball out of their net. Especially not against Philly who haven’t lost in 8, have won 7/8 and outscored opponents 19-7 in that time. They have conceded though in 5/6 including against Pittsburgh, a USL team in the USOC.

The last 5 meetings have all seen the BTTS & Over 2.5 cash, including in March where Miami won 2-1.

In Philly, honestly, I’d rather take a Union win if I had to pick a winner. Or, in this parlay, the BTTS.

Toronto FC vs Nashville Prediction

Toronto got a massive win over Montreal last week, 6-1, but Montreal went down a man just 21 minutes into the game and it was downhill from there.

It’s 2 wins in 3 for TFC, but beating Montreal and DC isn’t much to get excited about.

The Yotes rested their DPs in the USOC and still won 3-2 in Orlando this week. They’ve not lost in 7 and have scored in 12 of their past 14.

Nashville looks like the clear winner. But TFC keeps things close. They did just lose 1-0 to Cincinnati. Nashville is a similar level. And do have 4 clean sheets, while having conceded in 11/15 overall.

I can see similar low-scoring match like the Cincy game. But I will bet Nashville to score. Last year Nashville won 2-0 and 2-1.

MLS Picks and Parlays #3

Sunday’s MLS picks for the two matches.

NYCFC vs Chicago Prediction

The Fire have been one of the top road teams at 4-0-3 and only Cincy has collected more points. They beat Charlotte, a tough place to play in Charlotte 4-1 last week, and 3-1 away to New England in the USOC this week.

Looks at all matches and they’ve won 4 straight outscoring opponents 13-3, while being undefeated in 5.

As good as the Fire have been on the road, defense has been an issue. They’ve conceded in all 8 and the BTTS & Over 2.5 is 8-0. Up that to even Over 3,5 and it’s 6-2. On the road, Fire and Earthquakes games have seen the most goals at 3.7.

NYCFC are the opposite. They’re 9-5 to Under 2.5 and the 2.1 GPG in their matches is the 3rd-lowest overall.

New York beat rivals Red Bulls 2-0 last week but have only 1 win in 4. They’ve scored in 6/7 at home and 17/19 at home going back into last season. They also have clean sheets in 3/4 at home.

It was 2 draws last year, 0-0 in Chicago and 2-2 in New York. New York has scored in 9 straight home games vs Chicago going back over many seasons.

If you want player props we can easily look to Martinez and Cuypers for goals or shots. Both are top 6 in shots on target and top 10 in goals.

Martinez has at least a shot on target in every game this season, while Cuypers has 1+ in 7 straight and totals of 1, 3, 2, 2, 4, 2, and 1 in that time.

We have a lot of low-scoring trends with NY and high-scoring ones for Chicago. We’ll go down the middle. Maybe the draw is the way to go here with a goal from both at least.

Atlanta vs Cincinnati Prediction

At this point I can’t trust this Atlanta team. They’ve not won since March 29 an have been outscored 13-4. They’ve not kept a clean sheet in 11 straight.

Cincy drew Columbus 1-1 last week and only have 1 loss in 10 while scoring in 9/10. They own the best road record in MLS at 4-1-3, they’ve only scored 9 goals in 8 games.

It was 2-2 in March earlier this season. Cincy has scored vs Atlanta in 6 straight and the BTTS & Over 2.5 is 5-1.
