MLS Picks and Parlays for Week 33

All 15 games are on Saturday, September 13. Let’s look at 8 of them for this weekend’s MLS predictions.

MLS Picks and Parlays #1

Atlanta vs Columbus  Prediction

The Crew haven’t been that consistent lately with only 4 wins in 11 league games and none in their past 3 with a 1-1 draw, 2-1 loaa and 0-0 draw last game vs the Red Bulls. But they have a new DP striker and last game is the only time in 8 games they haven’t scored.

Atlanta have been consistently poor. They only have 2 wins in 15 games, but 1 of those came last game in an upset of Nashville winning 1-0. They drew TFC 0-0 before that, but previously, BTTS bets had been 9-0. That prop is now 9-2 in MLS games.

The Crew won at home 3-1 back in June and this time I’m just asking them to score.

  • MLS Picks Today: Columbus to score

Montreal vs St. Louis Prediction

This is the first-ever meeting between the teams in this inter-conference matchup. It’s a rather meaningless game with each team being 14th in their respective conferences.

Montreal drew rivals TFC 1-1 last and have drawn 3/4 games while being undefeated in 4 with only 2 losses in 8, but only 1 win in that time too. The BTTS is 8-0 and 11-1 in all comps. Montreal’s defense could be missing CB Morales who played with Bolivia in WCQ if he’s not ready to go.

For St. Louis, they played most of last week up a man and at home to Dallas and could only draw 1-1. In a wild stat, granted they played up a player from the 16’ minute, but they had 42 shots and 14 on target, so scoring just once, is kinda crazy.

St. Louis is abysmal on the road with worst road record at 1-2-11 and outscored 28-13.

They’re winless in 4 with just 2 wins in 13. The BTTS for them is 6-0 and 8-1. The BTTS & Over 2.5 is also 5-1.

Joao Klauss leads the team in goals and has 1+ shot on target in 9 straight and 13/14.

  • MLS Picks Today: Both Teams to Score

DC United vs Orlando City Prediction

The East’s worst team DC hosts 5th place Orlando.

For as bad as DC has been, they pulled a shockong upset over NYCFC, 2-1 in their last game and with 1-1 draws in each game prior are now undefeated in 3. But that 1 win is also their only win in 13 and 2nd in 20.

Orlando was flying but are starting to slump. They drew 0-0 with Toluca in the Leagues Cup quarters and won in PKs. But then lost 5-1 top Nashville in MLS, lost 3-1 to Miami in the LC semis and lost 2-1 to the LA Galaxy in the LC 3rd place game.

Maybe they’ll be happy to be back to league play.

Orlando, usually plays in high-scoring games. BTTS bets are now 15-1 and 17-2. The BTTS & Over is 13-3. The Toluca game is the only time they’ve not scored in 25 games.

In off-the-field news, they sent Ramiro Enrique to Saudi Arabia this week. They’re also missing Muriel to suspension this week.

  • MLS Picks Today: Orlando to score
  • Parlay Picks: CLB to score / MTL vs STL btts / ORL to score (+109)

MLS Picks and Parlays #2

Charlotte vs Inter Miami Prediction

The regular season is almost over and it’s Charlotte with the better record, 3rd in the East with 50 points, compared to Miami in 6th with 46. So this game, in Charlotte could be close. And you could certainly argue that the Crown should be favored. In fact, both teams are an identical +150 with the draw +275 at Bet365.

Charlotte is the hottest team in MLS right now. They’ve won 8 straight in the league and are undefeated in 9. Throw in Leagues Cup and they’re 9-3-1 in their last 13. Their last 5 games have been wins of 2-0, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 and 2-1. So the offense and defense are clicking at the right time. They’re also the league’s best home team at 11-1-2, scoring 27 and allowing just 12.

For Miami, they crashed out of the Leagues Cup Final getting spanked 3-0 by Seattle. That was their first loss in 4, and just their 3rd in 15 overall matches (SEA, ORL and PSG). Not since July 26 had they failed to score and 35 overall matches this season, Messi and friend getting shut out has only happened in 7 games. One of those friends, will be missing for 3 games, as Suarez is suspended for spitting on an opponent at the end of the final.

The BTTS bet for Miami is now recently 21-6 across their past 27 overall matches. The BTTS & Over 2.5 is 11-4. Miami has just 2 clean sheets in their past 27 overall matches as well.

This has been a close matchup in the past with Miami winning 1-0 in March, and other scores being 1-1, 2-1 and 1-0.

For player props, Toklomati and Zaha have been in form for Charlotte, but Biel is still injured. With Suarez suspended, it’s likely Allende leading the line, making him a decent prop bet for a goal or shots.

  • MLS Picks Today: Both to Score & Over 2.5

Chicago vs NYCFC Prediction

The teams are side-by-side in the table with NYC 8th with 44 points and Chicago 9th with 42.

NYC coasted to a 3-1 win in May, dominating in xG 4.1 to 0.2. But Chicago took red cards in th 31’ and 84’ minutes. While the last two scorelines are 3-1 and 2-2, the Under 2.5 is 8-2 in theri last 10 meetings.

After 5 games without a loss and 9 games finding the back of the net, Chicago put up a dud losing 4-0 to Philly. But last week they bounced back beating New England 3-2. Chicago has scored 13 goals in 7 games, but they also have just 2 clean sheets in 19.

New York was off last week and will be eager to erase the memory of losing to DC 2-1 in their last game. They’re now an even 3–0-3 in 6 across all matches. Only once in 9 games have NYC not scored, but only twice in 12 have they kept a clean sheet.

Before the DC loss, Alonso Martinez had scored in 4 straight games for NY and he has 14 on the year. Meanwhile, Cuypers (16) and Zinckernagel (12) have been filling the net all year for the Fire.

MLS Picks and Parlays #3

Off to the West Coast.

San Jose vs LAFC Prediction

San Jose have the last playoff spot in 9th and their 6 points back of 5th LAFC.

Quakes ‘games are always high-scoring. They lost 3-1 in their last game, have won only 2/11, and the BTTS is 14-0. BTTS & Over 2.5 is 11-3 in that time.

LAFC have only lost 2 of 12 games in regulation across all comps. But they’ve won just 2/9 as well, just 1/4 and recently drew 1-1 and lost 2-1.

When these teams meet up it’s always fireworks and with 45,000 expected at Levi’s Stadium to welcome Son to town, this one could be no different. The BTTS bet is a perfect 11-0 and 15-1 further back. Let’s look at those last 11 scorelines: 2-1 LAFC (this year in April), then 3-1, 4-1, 6-2, 3-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 3-2, and 3-1.

With Arango, Martinez, Bouanga and Son, this should see goals once again.

  • MLS Picks Today: Both Teams to Score

Seattle vs LA Galaxy Prediction

Since going out of the CWC vs PSG, the Sounders have been near perfect at 10-4-1. In 11 of those 15, they’ve scored multiple goals and have scored 5, 2 and 3 in their last 3, winning 5-2, 2-0 and 3-0.

One of those games was a 2-0 win over this Galaxy team in the Leagues Cup semis. Go a few games back and they also blew away the Galaxy 4-0 in MLS.

LA got their CCC spot by winning the LC 3rd Place game 2-1 over Orlando. Greg Vanney rotated last game and they drew Houston 1-1.

LA are 8-4-6 in their last 18 and in all comps they’ve scored in 18/22 and scored multiple goals in 8/14. But defensively, they’ve conceded in 30-34 overall games this season.

In their last 15 games, the only team they’ve not scored on is Seattle (twice).

Nobody has more home points in the West than Seattle at 8-4-1 and 28 points. Nobody has fewer road wins than LA’s 0, at 0-6-9 and outscored 34-16. LA hasn’t won in Seattle in 10 games going back to 2016.

Usually you can count on LA at least scoring but Paintsil is coming back from internatoinal duty and Pec and is suspended. This team got what they needed with a CCC spot so they may not offer much the final few games.

  • MLS Picks Today: Seattle over 1.5
  • Parlay Picks: SJ vs LAFC btts / SEA over 1.5 (+112)

MLS Picks and Parlays #4

Vancouver vs Philadelphia  Prediction

3rd in the West Vancouver with 49 points will host 1st overall in the Supporters’ Shield standings Philly, with 57 points.

The Caps got a late Thomas Muller PK goal to beat St. Louis 3-2 in their last game but obviously that was tied 2-2 until the final moment. They drew 1-1 with Houston before that. They’ve been solid at 3-2-1 in their last 6. In those 6 games the Caps have scored 3, 1, 3, 1, 1 and 3 goals, but have conceded in 4/6. Overall at home this season they’re 8-3-2.

The Union have been near-perfect lately themselves with only 1 loss in 9 and 3 and 24 across all comps. Only once in 9 have they not scored and they’re off wins of 4-0 and 1-0. They had conceded in 6 straight before that.

This could be hard to split with Philly being the top team, but Vancouver at home and still having the Muller bump.
