This is the first-ever meeting between the teams and Porto’s first match ever vs a US team.

Miami got the Club World Cup rolling in the kick-off match last Saturday against Al Ahly from Egypt. It was a match they were expected to win, but it was also not surprising that they had struggles. Al Ahly are Egypt’s top team and one of the most successful teams in the world when it come to total titles won.
If not for some key saves from Oscar Ustari and a missed PK, the Egyptians could have easily gotten something out of the game. Instead, despite several chances from both sides, (Al Ahly leading in shots on target 8-6), it ended in an entertaining 0-0 draw.
Back in MLS, Miami finds themselves 3rd in the Eastern Conference at 8-5-3.
Their games have all been entertaining. They’ve scored 36 and allowed 27. That’s seen their games average 3.9 GPG, the 2nd-most in MLS.
Messi had been scoring plenty. He has 5 goals, plus 3 assists in his last 3 games coming into the tournament. That included 2 goals each is his last two, both Miami wins of 4-2 and 5-1.
That’s a good turnaround for the Herons who had gone 0-2-2 in their previous 4. It is, though, still just 4 wins in 11 now across all comps.
Offensively, Miami has plenty of players who can score. But the defense has been getting shredded. The draw with Al Ahly is their only clean sheet in 11 gamed and they’ve given up multiple goals in 9/11.
That’s obviously led to tons of Overs, with Over 2.5 going 9-1 and BTTS & Over 2.5 going 8-2 after Matchday 1.
FC Porto Preview
In another 0-0 Group A draw, Porto drew Palmeiras as well, with the Brazilians leading in attempts 17-13 snd shots on target 5-3.
It wasn’t a great year for Porto in Portugal. They finished 3rd at 22-5-7, scoring 65 and allowing just 30, just below a goal-per-game allowed. But with 71 points, they were 9 back of 2nd-placed Benfica and 11 back of 1st-placed Sporting.
It was a rare non-top-2 finish in back-to-back years, something Porto hadn’t done since the 70s.
Tournament-wise, Porto claimed the Super Cup to start last season, but could only reach the 4th round of the Taca de Portugal and semis of the League Cup.
Porto did end the season in good from winning 3-1, 2-1 and 3-0 while also winning 5 of their final 6 matches. Only once in their final 9 matches did they not score, so being held of the scoresheet vs Palmeiras was rare.
When it comes to player props you can consider Samu and Mora from Porto who had 19 and 10 goals respectively in the Liga last season. Mora had 7 goals in his final 9 games. In the Porto’s final 3 wins, Samu went 3/1, 5/3 and 2/1 in attempts and shots on target.
Versus Palmeiras, Mora had 2 shots, none on target, and Samu was 1/1.
Inter Miami vs FC Porto Prediction
Both teams got out-shot in their first matches and needed big saves from their respective keepers. For Porto, they gave up the most touches inside in their box (39) since last October. On any other day, Miami should have likely conceded, much like they have been doing against basically every team in MLS all season.
I can’t see this game ending 0-0 like both saw on Matchday 1. There should be goals and I can more likely see Porto winning. The BTTS & Over 2.5 is +100 or you can add Samu to have a shot on target to bump it to +120, or Messi too for +170. Porto to win and BTTS is +190.
