Flamengo vs Bayern Munich Head-to-Head
This is their first-ever meeting.
Flamengo Preview
Flamengo got their their tournament started with a win over Tunisia’s Esperance, by a 2-0 score. Giorgian de Arrascaeta and Luiz Araujo had the goals.
In Game 2 they fell behind early to Chelsea, but stormed back in the second half with goals in the 62′ and 65′ from Henrique and Danilo, before Chelsea took a red card minutes later in the 68′ and Flamengo added a 3rd goal in the 83′ (Yan) to win 3-1.
In the final game with LAFC, it was scoreless until LAFC broke the deadlock in the 84′ and Flamengo replied right away tiying in the 86 from Wallace Yan.
Flamengo were 1st in Group D.
Flamengo sits top of the pile in Brazil’s Serie A and have been nearly perfect at 7-3-1, scoring 24 and allowing just 4 goals. That’s 7 more goals than any other side and 3 fewer conceded as well.
Their 1 loss in the Libertadores back in May is their only defeat across all comps in 16 matches with only 2 total on the season. They’ve not lost any matches in their last 10 while only failing to score once in 12 games.
Possibly the most impressive stat though is their defense that’s kept clean sheets in 7/9, in 12/16 and in 13/20 overall matches.
If you’re targeting player props for Flamengo, their leading man is Uruguayan international #10 Giorgian De Arrascaeta. Coming into the CWC he had 9G/4A. The next leading scorer on the team is Pedro with 4G/2A. But this tournament, four different players all have 1 goal each and Wallace has 2.

Bayern Munich Preview
Nobody had a better start to the CWC than Bayern, as they routed amateur side Auckland City of New Zealand 10-0 and each of Coman, Olisa and Muller had a brace and Musiala had a hat-trick.
Harry Kane finally opened his account vs Boca on Matchday 2 having failed to do so vs Auckland. Bayern took a 1-0 lead, saw Boca draw level and then needed an Olise goal in the 84′ to secure victory.
Having secured qualification, Bayern heavily rotated in the first half vs Benfica and went down 1-0. Despite brining on the big guns in the second half and dominating, they couldn’t score, lost 1-0 and finished 2nd in Group C.
The German champions just wrapped up an impressive season under Vincent Kompany. They went 25-7-2 in the Bundesliga, finishing with 82 points, a whole 13 points clear of the next closest challenger, Leverkusen with 69 points.
The Benfica loss and a loss during the UCL are their only defeats in 15 games and just their third in their last 26 across all competitions. They’re now on a 6-3-1 run, scoring multiple goals in 8/9, while keeping clean sheets in 5/8.

Flamengo vs Bayern Munich Prediction
Bayern are the obvious favorites but it hasn’t been all easy for them versus Boca Juniors and Benfica. You’d expect them to win and certainly to score, but can Flamengo? They’ve been very impressive in the tournament and already beat Chelsea. So I’ll back them to get on the scoresheet too. The BTTS alone is about -140. Which is OK by itself.
Or we can look to add some shot props. Olise for Bayern had 5 shots on target in his first two games before only getting two attempts (none on target) in 45 minutes vs Benfica. Adding him brings the bet to +150. Kane is an obvious option too but has only had 2 shots on target this tournament and none last game too.
