FC Porto vs Al Ahly Head-to-Head
This is their first meeting.
FC Porto Preview
Porto drew Palmeiras 0-0 on Matchday 1, with the Brazilians leading in attempts 17-13 snd shots on target 5-3.
On Matchday 2, Samu Aghehowa put Porto ahead early with a PK in the 8′ minute and it was all Porto in the first half. The second half was all Miami though and Telasco Segovia brought the Herons level and Messi put Miami ahead with a patented free kick goal for a 2-1 win. Porto had more attempts (14-6) but Miami more shots on target (5-3).
It wasn’t a great year for Porto in Portugal. They finished 3rd at 22-5-7, scoring 65 and allowing just 30, just below a goal-per-game allowed. But with 71 points, they were 9 back of 2nd-placed Benfica and 11 back of 1st-placed Sporting.
It was a rare non-top-2 finish in back-to-back years, something Porto hadn’t done since the 70s.
Tournament-wise, Porto claimed the Super Cup to start last season, but could only reach the 4th round of the Taca de Portugal and semis of the League Cup.
Porto is 3-1-1 in 5 (not counting friedlies) and have only failed to find the back of the net twice in 11 games.
When it comes to player props you can consider Samu and Mora from Porto who had 19 and 10 goals respectively in the Liga last season. For shots, versus Palmeiras, Mora had 2 shots, none on target, and Samu was 1/1. Versus Miami Mora was 3/1 and Samu 4/2.

Al Ahly Cairo Preview
Al Ahly were also involved in a Group A draw in their first game, drawing Inter Miami 0-0. While Miami had more attempts, 14-11, it was the Egyptians who led in shots on target, 8-6. If not for a missed PK and some huge saves from the Miami keeper, Al Ahly could have easily won this game versus the hosts.
In Game 2 vs Palmeiras, Al Ahly had 2 shots on target to just 1 for Palmeiras and had 65% possession, but still lost 2-0, by virtue of an own goal.
Having been injured in the first game, missing Emam Assour is a big loss for the Egyptian offense.
Al Ahly, nicknamed the Red Devils, have piled up 155 trophies. Al Ahly have won 45 of the all-time 66 Egyptian league titles to go with 12 CAF Champions League titles. They had the won the past 2 Champions Leagues, but failed to make the final for the first time since 2019 this year.
Al Ahly were 2nd in the Egyptian Premier League in the main phase going 11-6-0, and the only team to not lose a game. They scored 30 and allowed just 9 goals, which was the best defensive record in the division.
In the Championship Group, they’ve stayed hot at 6-1-1, scoring 22, allowing 9 and sitting 1st in the 9-team group by 2 points above Pyramids FC, to clinch their 3rd-straight league title.

FC Porto vs Al Ahly Prediction
Both teams need a win for any chance of progression but Al Ahly have yet to score and are missing their top player so we’ll side with the Portuguese team.
- FIFA Club World Cup Picks: Porto win (-134) or add Samu to have a shot on target for (-104) at Bet365.
