Champions League Picks and Parlays #1
We’ve got 3 games to break down from Tuesday’s UCL schedule to use in our Champions League predictions.
Slovan Bratislava vs AC Milan Prediction
Bottom of the pile Slovan is 36th, 0-0-4 and have been outscored 15-2, in losing by 4, 4, 2 and 3 goals.
Milan haven’t been great either sitting 20th at 2-0-2. After losing 3-1 and 1-0 they’ve now won 3-1 and 3-1 with a win over Real Madrid last game the most impressive.
In Slovakia, Slovan are 1 point clear in first, being 11-2-1, but are coming off a draw in their last game. In all comps they’ve scored in 6 straight but weaker sides than Milan have easily beaten Slovan in the UCL so this will be tough. Zagreb on the road just beat them 4-1 last round. They should be a little more rested though having last played on Friday.
In Italy, Milan just played a big game with Juventus on Saturday and drew 0-0. It’s back-to-back draws, 1 win in 4 and they’re just 7th in Serie A so are not in top form, but they should still have too much for Slovan.
A loss to Napoli is their only defeat in their past 7.
- Champions League Predictions: AC Milan win
Young Boys Atalanta Prediction
Another poorly performing side in Young Boys, 34th at 0-0-4 who have been outscored 15-2 will host 9th Atalanta who have yet to lose at 2-2-0.
Young Boys have lost by just 1 in their past 2 UCL games, 1 vs Shakhtar but the other at home vs Inter Milan. But before that they got blasted 3-0 and 5-0 to Villa and Barca.
In Switzerland they’ve struggled for much of the year and are 9th, however, are now undefeated in 4 games and all versus team inside the top 5. Look at all matches though and it’s only 3 wins in 11.
Atalanta have been flying though. They went to Parma Saturday and won 3-1 and are still 2nd.
They’ve been scorching hot now winning 6 straight and being 9-2–0 in 11 across all matches. They’ve outscored opponents 29-5, scored multiple goals in 6 straight and 9/11 and keeping 6 clean sheets in that time.
Let’s complete this all-Serie A Champions League moneyline parlay with the Atalanta win.
- Champions League Predictions: Atalanta win
Man City vs Feyenoord Prediction
In the UCL, Man City is 10th, at 2-1-1 and just got blasted 4-1 by Sporing last round. Feyenoord are way down in 21st at 2-0-2 despite only being 1 point worse than City and lost 3-1 to Salzburg last round.
1 of these teams is coming off a huge win this weekend and 1 a huge loss. And it may not be the teams you’d think.
A newly-signed Pep contract extension did nothing to stop the slide as City lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham, adding to other losses of 2-1, 4-1, 2-1 and 2-1 in their past 5. With Rodri, Bobbm Kovacic, Doku and Dias out injured, City have plenty of key injuries.
But then Feyenoord could have as many as 9 misisng players themselves.
Still, they beat Heerenveen 3-0 this weekend and won 4-1 the game prior. In all comps they’ve lost just 3/18 this season. There’s been 2+ goals in all 18.
The City slump has to end at some point and this likely looks like the spot, but maybe the BTTS and Over 2.5 is a safer option given City’s awful form.
In 19 games in all comps this season there’s been 2+ goals in 17 City games.
- Champions League Predictions: Over 1.5
- Parlay Picks: AC Milan win / Atalanta win / MCI vs FEY over 1.5 (-113)
Champions League Picks and Parlays #2
Here are 3 games to target for a Wednesday Champions League parlay.
Bologna vs Lille Prediction
Bologna have yet to win or even score so far in the UCL at 0-1-3 and outscored 5-0. Obviously with those goal totals their games have been all tight and all going Under 2.5.
Lille’s been one of the surprises of the competition at 2-1-1 and that’s included wins over Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and a draw with Juventus.
With just 5 GF and 4 GA, they too have been an Under 2.5 team at 3-1.
Bologna played Lazio this weekend and lost 3-0, but they played 2/3 of that game down a man and still held their own for much of the match. They had won 3/4 before that game but their form overall is so-so. They’re 8th in Serie A, in all matches this season are 4-7-5, so few wins and many draws.
In France, Lille beat Rennes 1-0 this weekend and are 4th in Ligue 1. It’s now been over 2 months since Les Dogues tasted defeated at 6-5-0 since a 2-0 UCL loss to Lyon on September 17. It’s a draw in 3/4 and BTTS in 3/4 for Lille games and Under 2.5 going 5-2. The Under 3.5 has gone 8-2.
We have a decent amount of low-scoring stats here to consider. A draw or Under 2.5 could be good straight bets or Under 3.5. Bologna may have the home advantage but in Serie A they’ve scored only 4 goals in 5 games, but have allowed just 3, some more low-scoring stats to consider.
- Champions League Predictions: Under 3.5
Monaco vs Benfica Prediction
3rd place Monaco hosts 19th Benfica.
The French side have not lost yet in the UCL at 3-1-0 and have piled up 10 goals in 4 games but have conceded in 3/4 only keeping a clean sheet vs Bologna, a team that has yet to score on anyone.
Benfica have also given up a goal in 3/4 winning 2-1 and 4-0 before more recent 3-1 and 1-0 losses.
In Ligue 1 Monaco won 3-2 over Brest this weekend and are 2nd. Look at all matches this season and they’re 12-3-2, scoring in 15/17. They have conceded in 5/6 recent games though. 2nd-leading scorer Balogun is injured but they have 11 other players who have scored in the league.
In Portugal Benfica are 3rd. The league was off this weekend, but they played and smashed Estrella 7-0 in the Cup. They too though overall in all matches have been strong all season at 13-1-3, scoring in 15/17 too.
I see some goals in this game.
- Champions League Predictions: Both Teams to Score
Liverpool vs Real Madrid Prediction
A UCL FInals rematch here. These teams have met in the final twice in recent years. Real Madrid winning 3-1 in the 2017/18 final and Madrid winning again in the 2021/22 final 1-0. One of these teams has made the final in 5 of 9 years.
These two have met many times over the years and it’s been all Madrid. In 8 meetings since 2014 Madrid is 7-1-0 and have won the past 3 games 1-0, 5-2 and 1-0.
It’s been a shockingly bad UCL campaign for Los Blancos who are 18th. They began beating Stuttgart 3-1, before losing to Lille 1-0, beating Dortmund 5-2 and then losing again to AC Milan 3-1.
Meanwhile, the Reds are top of the pile in 1st winning all 4 games by a goal-difference of 10-1. They just routed the Europa League Bundesliga champs Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 and if we look at a common opponent of AC Milan, they beat Milan 3-1, compared to Madrid’s 3-1 loss.
This weekend Liverpool left it late and close but topped last place Southampton 3-2 and remain 1st in the EPL and 8 points clear of Man City.
And Real Madrid beat Leganes 3-0 and are still 4 points back of Barca in Spain.
Liverpool have made no miss-steps so far this season. And Madrid seems to be unpredictable. Mbappe has yet to produce much and they’re dealing with a ton of injuries including the latest to Vinicius Jr. Madrid is still Madrid and are still loaded with talent but you’d have to look the way of Liverpool if you want a winner. For this parlay, in case we see a draw, I’ll simply take Liverpool to score.
Despite back-to-back shutouts, Madrid have allowed a goal in 9/12 recent games.
- Champions League Predictions: Liverpool to score
- Parlay Picks: BOL vs LIL under 3.5 / MON vs BEN btts / LIV to score (+137)
