This week we had Champions League, Europa League and Conference League play and after this weekend it’s another international break so let’s cover the top euro leagues before they go on break for this weekend’s picks and parlays and soccer picks today.
Soccer Picks and Parlays #1
3 Saturday EPL games.
Brentford vs Wolves Prediction
Brentford haven’t won in 3 games in the EPL. But oddly and weirdly, have scored inside the opening minute of all 3.
But count all comps this season and they’ve scored in 6 straight and 7/8, but then have conceded in 7/8 as well.
Wolves are rooted at the bottom of the table at 0-1-5, outscored 16-6, giving up the most goals overall.
Last season Brentford won 2-0 and they drew 1-1 in the EPL and Wolves won 3-2 in ET in the FA Cup.
Brentford’s 8 goals have been scored by just 2 players, 3 from Wissa and 5 from Mbeumo. Wissa could miss out injured as could up to 8 players for the Bees, but Mbeumo is good to go.
You’d think Brentford wins or maybe BTTS, but I’ll just ask them to score.
- Soccer Picks Today: Brentford to score
Leicester vs Bournemouth Prediction
There are only 2 combined wins between these teams so far, both being for the Cherries who are 2-2-2, while Leicester is 0-3-3.
But Leicester have scored in all 6 EPL games, but then have conceded as well so BTTS is 6-0 and BTTS & O2.5 is 4-2. Their 2 Cup games were a 4-0 win and PK win after a 0-0 draw.
They did meet in the FA Cup back in February and Leicester won 1-0 in extra-time.
Despite having the 2nd fewest shots on target Leicester keep scoring. Bournemouth have put the 5th most shot on target this season.
But then both allow a pile of shots against, Leicester allowing the most, and Bournemouth the 2nd most. The Cherries xGA is respectable, about midpack, but Leicester’s is dead last at 12.3.
Leicester got 2 versus Arsenal last week so should be able to score here but they’ve not proved capable of keeping clean sheets. Bournemouth’s club-record signing Evanilson opened his account this week so should start to get rolling too. The Cherries have been shut out in 2/3 but also have scored 3 goals twice in four vs other lower teams like Everton and Southampton.
- Soccer Picks Today: Both Teams to Score
Man City vs Fulham Prediction
Fulham is off to a good start at 3-2-1, 6th and only allowing 5 goals.
But that could end vs Man City, 2nd, at 4-2-0. It’s also an opponent that has dominated Fulham. Last year City won 4-0 and 5-1 and City have won each of the past 16 meetings going back to 2012. They’ve also scored 2+ goals vs Fulham in 17 straight. That’s wild.
City come in off a 4-0 route of Slovan Bratislava in Tuesday’s UCL game. It may not be 4-0 off a short week, but should still be a win. They’ve not lost in 29 in all competitions.
- Soccer Picks Today: Man City win
- Parlay Picks: BRE to score / LEI vs BOU btts / MCI win (+132)
Soccer Picks and Parlays #2
Saturday in the EPL, La Liga and the Bundesliga.
Arsenal vs Southampton Prediction
Arsenal come in as huge favorites over the still winless, 19th-placed Southampton who are 0-1-5 and outscored 12-3.
The Gunners are about -800 moneyline favorites so maybe you can throw that into the parlay, or for a little better odds you can cut that in half to about -450 for Arsenal to score 2+ goals.
Obviously if you’re looking for this as a straight bet, you’d need Arsenal to win by 3 or 4 or by shut out or leading at the half and fulltime.
Arsenal have scored 2+ goals in 19/24 of their past 24 EPL games and they did it again in the UCL this week beating PSG 2-0. That’s good enough for me.
- Soccer Picks Today: Arsenal over 1.5
Bayer Leverkusen vs Holstein Kiel Prediction
It’s been a tough start in the Bundesliga for Holstein Kiel at 0-1-4 and outscored 17-7, giving up the most goals and sitting last in 18th.
Leverkusen are 3-1-1, scoring plenty, 14 GF, but giving up 10 GA and last week they drew Bayern 1-1. They sit 4th.
They come in off a 1-0 win over AC Milan in the Champions League and should again roll against Kiel here. Xabi’s team just rarely loses right now. They had a run of 35 games undefeated and have 1 loss in 38.
You’ll have to get super creative with Leverkusen to win by 3 or 4 though as they’re around -1200 on the moneyline.
- Soccer Picks Today: Leverkusen over 1.5
Las Palmas vs Celta Vigo Prediction
After a hot start to the season Celta has cooled off and sunk to 10th. Las Palmas are still the only winless team at 0-3-5, outscored 16-9 and sitting in 20th.
Both teams’ games have seen goals though, Celta’s 3.8 (3rd most) and Las Palmas’ 3.1 (4th most).
Celta is 7-1 to Over 1.5 totals and Las Palmas 8-0.
Celta has scored in 7/8 but conceded in 8/8 and BTTS is 7-1.
Las Palmas have scored in 7/8 but also conceded in 8/8 and BTTS is also 7-1.
Las Palmas also has 0 wins in their past 22 matches. In those 22 games they’ve also kept just 1 clean sheet.
This season they’ve proved capable of at least scoring when home on the island and have now scored in 6 straight home games.
Last year both won at home, Las Palmas 2-1 and Celta 4-1. Prior to that they had not met since 2018. But historically this match is exciting. The BTTS & O2.5 has it in each of the past 12 going back to 2011.
- Soccer Picks Today: Both Teams to Score
- Parlay Picks: ARS over 1.5 / BL over 1.5 / LP vs CV btts (+132)
Soccer Picks and Parlays #3
Into Sunday in the EPL and La Liga.
Aston Villa vs Man U Prediction
Villa is having the better season but Man U has gotten the better of this match winning 4 straight including 2-1 and 3-2 last season.
There’s been 3+ goals in 5/6 and Villa has not won in 7 meetings, since 2021.
Villa upset Bayern in the Champions League 1-0 on Wednesday.
Man U played Porto in the UEL Thursday vs Porto and went up 2-0, down 3-2 and eventually drew 3-3 with a Harry Maguire header from a corner in stoppage time.
Villa is in great form, spirits are high, and in all comps they are 7-1-1, scoring in 8/9 and scoring multiple in 7/9.
In EPL home games, Unai Emery’s men have scored in 34/36,
- Soccer Picks Today: Villa to score
Brighton vs Tottenham Prediction
Brighton sit 9th and have only lost once, but haven’t won in 4 games with 3 draws in that time in the EPL. They have both scored and conceded 2 goals in 3 straight when counting the Carabao Cup with a 4-2 loss, 2-2 draw and 3-2 win.
Tottenham have 1 more point than Brighton just above them in the standings, 8th vs 9th. Their 12 GF ranks tied-3rd, while their 5 GA ranks tied-2nd.
Spurs played Ferencvaros Thursday in the Conference League and won 2-1 but that was close, being 1-0 and 2-0 until late.
They’ve now won 5 straight and scored multiple goals in all 5.
Both won at home last year, Brighton 4-2 and Spurs 2-1. In Tottenham’s last 35 EPL games, there’s been 3+ goals in 29 of them.
- Soccer Picks Today: Over 1.5
Alaves vs Barcelona Prediction
Barca won 3-1 and 2-1 last season and are 12-2-0 in the last 14 with Alaves last winning in 2016, their only win in 24 meetings.
Alaves have lost 2 straight, 3/4 and have given up 2+ goals in each of those 3 losses.
Barca routed Young Boys 5-0 in the UCL Tuesday, in all comps are 8-0-2 and have scored multiple goals in 8/10 and at least 1 in all 10.
- Soccer Picks Today: Barcelona over 1.5
- Parlay Picks: AV to score / BRI vs TOT over 1.5 / BAR over 1.5 (+109)
Soccer Picks and Parlays #4
Sunday in the Bundesliga and Serie A.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayer Munich Prediction
It’s 1-1-1 between them in the past 3 with a 2-1 Bayern win and 5-1 Frankfurt win last season. And a 1-1 draw prior to that. Frankfurt have actually won 3/7 between them, so it’s an ever 3-1-3 in the past 7 meetings. Only 1/7 and 2/12 meeting have Frankfurt not at least scored.
Bayern played in the UCL on Wednesday and shockingly lost 1-0 away to Aston Villa.
Frankfurt played in the CL and won 3-1 away to Besiktas in Turkey.
This week notwithstanding, Bayern will always be expected to score. So the question is if Frankfurt can too and if there will be 3 or more goals.
Frankfurt are 2nd in the table, have won 4 straight. In fact, they’ve scored multiple goals now in 6 straight games and at home in the Bundesliga they’ve scored in 30/32.
- Soccer Picks Today: Both Teams to Score
Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim Prediction
Last year both won on the road, Hoffenheim 3-2 and Stuttgart 3-0. Other scorelines have read 1-1, 2-2, 2-1, 3-1, 2-0, 3-3, 1-1 and 4-0 going back a number of seasons.
Still. no matter the year there seems to be goals. There’s been 2+ in 17/18 and 3+ in 12/18.
This year both have been involved in goal-laden games. 4 teams have seen 4.8 GPG in their matches this season and these are 2 of the 4. Both have seen 2+ in all 5 games, 3+ in all 5 games and Stuttgart has seen 4+ in all 5, while Hoffenheim have seen 3+ in 4/5.
From wins and losses, you’d have to bet Stuttgart who are 2-2-1, compared to Hoffenheim’s 1-0-4, putting them currently in the relegation playoff spot.
Stuttgart comes in off a 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague in the UCL and they drew 2-2 last weekend. In all comps they’ve scored in 9/9, but conceded in 8/9. In all comps they’ve scored 2+ iin 7/10.
In the UEL Hoffenheim played Thursday and won 2-0.
- Soccer Picks Today: Stuttgart over 1.5
Lazio vs Empoli Prediction
Lazio are the 3rd-highest scorers with the 4th-highest xG and 2nd-most shots on target in Italy. 12 GF and a 3-1-2 record is good, but they’ve also allowed 10 goals, tied for the 6th-most.
Empoli actually have the same amount of points, 10, less wins than Lazio, 2 vs 3, but they are 1 of 2 teams (Juve) still yet to lose.
With just 5 GF and 2 GA, Empoli has been a stone-cold Under at 5-1 with their games averaging just 1.2 GPG.
Lazio always scores, scores often and usually wins vs Empoli though. They’ve won the past 3 meetings 2-0, have scored 2 or 3 goals vs Empoli in 6 straight and are 9-2-0 in the past 11.
The rest advantage is in Empoli’s favor with Lazio playing in the UEL on Thursday, but with a very rotated squad, but they’ll be full of confidence having put 4 past Nice in a 4-1 home win as the goals kept coming for the Eagles.
- Soccer Picks Today: Lazio to score
- Parlay Picks: EF vs BM btts / STU over 1.5 / LAZ to score (+114)
