The international break is over and we’re back to the European leagues. This weekend, I’ll look at 10 different games in the EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A in this weekend’s soccer predictions.
Soccer Picks and Parlay #1
Brighton vs Newcastle Prediction
Both teams are 2-3-2 with 9 pts in the EPL.
Brighton have only lost 2 in 9 overall matches and none of their last 4. All 9 of those games have seen 2+ goals, they’ve scored in 8/9, conceded in 8/9 and BTTS is 6-3.
In 10 overall matches Newcastle only has 3 losses and they’ve won 3/4. They’ve started to improve scoring 4, 1, 4 and 2 goals and keeping back-to-back clean sheets. New signing Woltemade has been a big part of that with goals in 3 straight.
It was close last year with a 1-0 Brighton win, a 2-1 Brighton win and a 1-1 draw. BTTS is now 5-1 between them. Brighton haven’t lost a home EPL game to Newcastle in 8 all-time meetings.
This year, Newcastle’s 3 road games this year have all been 0-0 scores, but Brighton’s 3 home games have all been BTTS.
Maybe an Under 3.5 in a parlay or a tight 1-1.

Koln vs Augsburg Prediction
Koln’s scoring has cooled off but they have 11 goals in 6 games. It was a rare shutout last game beating Hoffenheim 1-0. Augsburg are down in 14th and have scored 11 and allowed 13.
The newly promoted Koln have scored in all 7 of their games this season, while Augsburg have conceded in 6/7 and each of their last 6. Considering Augsburg scores have been 3-1, 2-1, 4-1, 2-1, 3-2 and 3-1 in their last 6, this could be a good BTTS game or just Koln to score. Augsburg have also scored in all of their games. Koln’s keeper Marvin Schwäbe was absent from training during the international break due to a muscular injury and is doubtful for Saturday’s game.

Mainz vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction
16th Mainz have only scored 5 while allowing 10 and have yet to keep a clean sheet in the Bundesliga. In all comps across 10 games, they have only 2 but both vs lower level teams in the Pokal. Last game they got routed 4-0 by the promoted Hamburger. This is another team without a keeper, as Robin Zentner is suspended.
Leverkusen’s 12 goals are 3rd overall and they’re 5th in the table. They haven’t lost since Week 1, have scored in all 9 matches across all comps and have multiple goals in 5 of their past 7. Schick, Tella and Terrier could return from injury and I’m simply going to ask Leverkusen to score here.

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction
Der Klassiker sees 1st hosting 2nd and neither team suffering a loss yet. Both are good defensively with Bayern allowing 3 and Dortmund just 4. BvB’s 12 goals in 6 games are good, but the 24 by Bayern are far and away more than anyone else. Kane got injured last game but returned for England vs Latvia and scored twice in a 5-0 win.
Dortmund’s star Guirassy got injured with Guinea, but was back in training and is cleared to play. That’s good news for a Dortmund team who have scored in all 9 overall matches this season, with 4 goals from Guirassy.
Last year they drew 1-1 and 2-2. There’s been 3+ goals between them in 11/12 and BTTS is 10-2, with BTTS & Over 2.5 9-3.

Barcelona vs Girona Prediction
You’d expect Barcelona to respond after a terrible 4-1 loss to Sevilla in their last game and a 2-1 loss to PSG before that and they have the perfect opponent to do against in 18th Girona who are 1-3-4 and outscored 17-5. Some concern exists with Lewandowski and Raphinha out injured.
But the Girona have 6 players listed as out or doubtful and Frances and Martin are suspended with red cards.
Last year Barca hammered Girona 4-1 in both meetings, outscoring them a combined 10-2. They’ve scored 2+ vs Girona in 4 straight meetings. Nothing this season points to a different outcome.

Villarreal vs Real Betis Prediction
It’s 3rd Villarrreal hosting 4th Real Betis. Bot have given 8 goals, with Villarreal scoring 14 and Betis 13.
Last year both won 2-1 on the road, so recent scores have now been 2-1, 2-1, 3-2, 2-1 and 1-1.
This season both have seen 2+ goals in 7/8 matches and I think we can see 2 again here, and maybe 1 from each.
Villarreal have scored in 5 straight games and Betis are undefeated in 6 overall matches, have won 3 straight and have scored 2 or 3 goals now in 6 straight too.
If we look at some shot props, Cucho Hernandez for Betis is 2nd overall in shot attempts with 26. For Villarreal Pepe is 5th in shot attempts with 22 and 4th in shots on target with 9.
Villarreal’s main attackers look good to go, but they do have 6 players out, doubtful or suspended, such is the case for defender Santiago Mourino.

Liverpool vs Man U Prediction
2nd hosts 10th here in this rivalry that saw Liverpool win 3-0 at Old Trafford and the teams drawn 2-2 at Anfield last year. The season prior the scores were 2-2 and 4-3 Man U. Liverpool haven’t lost at home to Man U in nearly a decade but are not in the best of form right now.
Man U are again off to a poor start and they’re always hard to trust. They’ve alternated wins and losses in their last 6, last winning 2-0 over Sunderland, but all 3 of those wins have come at home. They’ve won 2/3 but this season’s wins are vs 2 promoted teams and a Chelsea team who too ka red card.
But if there’s any time to get Liverpool it may be now coming off the international break and poor form having lost 3 straight. The Reds have scored in 10/11, but conceded in 9/11 and 6 straight.
It’s to not expct Liverpool to score 1 or 2, but with their down form and pplenty of players capable of scorung in Sesko, Mbeumo and Cunha, I’m going to back Man U to get on the scoresheet in thei rivalry.

Freiburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction
This could be a good one between 8th Freiburg and 7th Frankfurt. Last year there were 9 goals combined in their 2 meetings with Frankfurt winning 4-1 and 3-1.
Frankfurt games easily see the most average GPG in the Bundesliga at 5.5, and they’re a perfect 6-0 to Over 2.5 and 5-1 to Over 3.5. They got shut out 3-0 to Bayern last game but that’s the only game they’ve not scored, the BTTS & Over 3.5 … had been 6-0 before that. In fact, their games in reverse order have seen 3, 6, 10, 7, 6, 4, 4, 5 and 5.
In all comps Freiburg have only 2 losses in 9 and none in 6, but have drawn 1-1, 1-1 and 0-0 in their last 3. That last game is the only time they’ve not scored.

Pisa vs Verona Prediction
2 of the 3 relegation ranked teams meet here with neither having won a game through 6 rounds. On one hand you could say maybe there will be goals, as Verona have given up 9 in 6 and Pisa 10 in 6.
But where will the goals come from? Verona has only scored 2 and Pisa 3.
Parma is 5-1 to Under 2.5 and Pisa 4-2, and Pisa’s last game is skewed, where they lost 4-0 but took an early red card. Go back further into last season and Verona has cashed Under 2.5 tickets in 14/16 Serie A games.
Both teams have 5 players lsited injured and Pisa’s Toure is suspended.

Atalanta vs Lazio Prediction
Compared to the rest of Serie A, the 2.8 and 2.7 GPG for LAZ/ATA rank pretty high GPG only behind 3 other teams.
It’s not super high, but both have hit double digits in goals with 11 for Atalanta and 10 for Lazio. Lazio are 4-2 to Over 1.5 and Atalanta 6-0.
Lazio come in off a 3-0 win and then 3-3 draw, while Atalanta are 3-4-1 overall in all matches, only losing and only failing to score vs PSG in a UCL match.
For shots, La Dea’s Nikola Krstovic is 5th in shot attempts with 18. He has 2 goals.
Lazio’s Matteo Cancellieri is tied in 3rd with 3 goals, he had 2 last game and 1 the game prior. Unfortunately, fellow multi-goal scorers Castellanos is definitely out getting injured in training and Zaccagni could be too, but also could still make the squad. They’re also hoping to get back Dia which is a question mark.
This could be a 1-1….Atalanta have scored in nearly every match but then only have 1 clean sheet in 8 games. Atalanta have four 1-1 draws but have only allowed more than 1 goal once (PSG) — and Lazio have 6 goals in their last 2 games.
