WAC Casablanca vs Al Ain SCC Head-to-Head
This is their first meeting.
WAC Casablanca Preview
Casablanca hung around with English giants Manchester City on Matchday 1, only losing 2-0. With Foden scoring for City just 2 minutes in and Doku adding another in the 42′ minute, it looked like it could get out of hand, but that was it for the scoring with City winning just 2-0. WAC were outshot 15-12 and 6-2 in shots on target and only had 32% possession though.
The scoreline will show a 4-1 loss on Matchday 2 vs Juventus, but they conceded an early own goal and it was just 2-1 until the 69′ and 3-1 until a late PK conceded in stoppage time. They actually outshot Juve 15-9 and 6-3 in shots on target. Thembinkosi Lorch had their goal.
Wydad has a decent season in Morocco, but were well out of the title race. They finished 3rd and out of the the CAF Champions League spots reserved for the top 2. They were 14-12-4 scoring 45 and allowing 27 goals for 54 points. That was 3 back of 2nd and 16 back of 1st. So while they rarely lost, they simply had too many draws.
Overall though, they hold a record 22 titles in the Moroccan league.
Rayhi Mohamed was tied for first in league scoring with 11 goals, tied alongside 3 others.

Al Ain SCC Preview
It was a not a great start to the CWC for Al Ain, but that could have been expected against a Serie A giant like Juventus. They were down 3-0 a half hour in, 4-0 at the half and lost 5-0 by the end. They at least had 5 five shots on target to go with 9 attempts.
It got worse on Matchday 2 as they suffered a 6-0 loss to Man City, only seeing 26% possession and being outshot 21-5 and 11-1 in shots on target.
The team from Abu Dhabi finished 5th in the UAE League at 12-8-6 scoring 56 goals and allowing 32. Their 44 points put them 4 back of 3rd which is the Champions League 2 spot, and they were well off of 1st place Al-Ahli Dubai who had 63 points. For a team with 14 league titles, it’s definitely a down year.
With 3.4 GPG in their matches they were much more of an Over betting team at 18-8 to Over 2.5 totals.
Much of their scoring came from Laba Kodjo who led the league with 20G/4A, but they also had Rahimi Soufiane with 11G/4A.
Al Ain ended the season undefeated in 7 games at 4-3-0 and kept 6 clean sheets in those 7 games. But that’s quickly changed in the CWC against superior opposition. This match may be more of their level and the odds are relatively equal but still make them underdogs.

WAC Casablanca vs Al Ain SCC Prediction
Wydad played in two friendlies, losing 1-0 to both Sevilla and Porto after their season ended before the CWC. They had finished their season undefeated at 5 though at 4-1-0. Their only loss in 2025 before the CWC came in the Throne Cup where they lost 1-0 in the Round of 16. So in 2025 in all comps they are now 9-6-3, with 2/3 losses coming to Man City and Juventus.
I’d say they’ve played slightly better than Al Ain in the CWC. They held City to just a 2-0 defeat while Al Ain were blow away 6-0. And versus Juve, they lost 4-1 but allowed an own goal and a late penalty. They’ve been outscored 6-1, versus 11-0 for Al Ain. In fact, Al Ain have allowed 11 goals on 18 shots on target.
With both eliminated it’s only pride on the line. Given Wydad has looked slightly better, we’ll side with them.
