Dortmund started slow in the German Bundesliga and languished mid-table for some time but were scorching hot down the stretch and in the final days reached 4th overall at 17-6-11, scoring 71 goals, allowing 51 and finishing with 57 points. That was 3 back of 3rd and just 2 above 5th. That claimed them the final Champions League spot.

After getting knocked out of the UCL Quarterfinal to Barcelona, Dortmund drew Bayern Munich 2-2 and then won out the rest of the way with 6 wins, outscoring opponents 20-7. So while they didn’t keep many clean sheets in that time and conceded a goal in 12 of their final 14 games, they also scored 3 or 4 goals in each of those final 6.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction
Dortmund was not good on Matchday Day 1 and I don’t feel great about their chances of going deep and they only put up 0.24 of xG vs Fluminense, but you still have to expect them to get the win here in a game where they’ll need points. Adding Mamelodi to score could be an option to bring up the price.
