Winnipeg Bluebombers @ Calgary Stampeders
Two teams going completely opposite directions face off to start Week 12 in the CFL. The Bombers fired their coach after a 20-17 loss against BC back on August 24 and an 2-6 start to the year. Since, they got blown out 52-0 the following week in Saskatchewan, before bringing a better effort last week, but still coming up short to the Riders again in a 25-24 loss, despite being ahead by a point with half a minute to go in the game. The Bombers are now 2-8 on the year, in the midst of a three-game losing streak and haven’t beaten the Stamps since July 10, 2009. They’ve lost the past five games between the teams and have lost 7/10. They’re also 0-5 on the road this year.
Calgary’s arrow is pointed in the opposite direction as they’re riding a three-game winning streak after beating the Riders, followed by a home-and-home sweep of the Eskimos. One drawback is they’ll be without star returner Larry Taylor, but Kevin Glenn, Jon Cornish and Nik Lewis should provide more than enough offense to give Winnipeg QB Joey Elliott (who may be seeing his last game as a starter with Buck Pierce cleared to play) and the Bombers fits.
